Yes, I tend to be the jack of all trades, master of none. But hey, I have a blast doing it. I love to be creative. It’s almost like a single minded gremlin trying to burst out of me. Making me stare into space, get grumpy because I haven’t finished everything that has to be done before I sit down and let all my creative gremlins loose.
Between my husband and myself, we have 6 kids, oh yes, I did say 6! So as you might imagine, a spare moment can be hard to come by.
But since I was a little girl, about 3 or 4 years old, I have expressed most of my creativity through music and crochet.
I remember driving to Galveston island in Texas and I as usual couldn’t sit still. My Mom, being the very wise woman that she is, gave me a ball of yarn and told me to keep busy with it. My little fingers were too small to work the crochet hook well, so I just used my little pointy finger. I began to crochet with just my fingers and I would crochet the whole ball of cotton candy pink yarn into a VERY long chain. When I was done crocheting it all, I would pull it all out and do it again. So,…hmmm, does that mean I can blame my crochet insanity on my mom? hehehe. She’d bop me on the head for that one…hehehe.
So to make a long story short, my step-Mom (who is my real mom too) taught me later to make granny squares. From there with lots of trial and error, snaggled up yarn, growling and yelling at my yarn, I have learned to crochet just about anything. I find it so soothing, probably a good thing with my crazy but amazing life.
I ran across these patterns on Ravelry and fell in love with them. My kids HAD to have them! And with them being kinda wacky, I figured it was right up my alley.
Thought I’d post ’em because they are so darn cute! Hope you like them, if you are interested in the pattern it is a free pattern on Ravelry
So goodbye for now!
