How I came about making crochet jewelry?…
Rather by accident. I have eyeballed just about every crochet jewelry piece in magazines. Ok, maybe not EVERY piece. Yikes! Some of them, not to be rude but SERIOUSLY? Lol. So in my normal goof around way, started making jewelry designs. Sometimes I would be inspired by nature, other times by patterns, and sometimes even an interesting design or apparel.
At first I had a lot of the things I was making either looked like they belonged in the “are you kidding me magazine” category or (heaven forbid…*gritting teeth*) worse. Ya know the kind were you want to just burn it because it is soooo embarrassing!
After a while, I created the BOHO. For this I was inspired by pineapple tablecloth patterns. Honestly, it started totally different, and then as I continued to make them they became the BOHO you see in my store.
Then I got bored of doing the same pattern over, and over, and OVER again… so I started playing around/ designing another pattern. Rinse, repeat…and I ended up with the rest. I have had lots of “uglys” but I’m a stubborn bugger. So I ripped it out (called frogging in crochet lingo) over and over again till I was satisfied. I have played around with different types of thread, added beads, and worked with mixed media. So I’m excited to see what I come up with, as my designs tend to take on a life of their own. Do you design your own patterns? Or just enjoy how beautiful crochet can be? Tell me about it or catch me on social media! I would love to know what you think and if you have any suggestions for designs.
Make it an Amazing day!
